Ruslan Yarmolyuk

Ruslan Fyodorovich Yarmolyuk (Ukrainian: Русла́н Фе́дорович Ярмолю́к; born June 28, 1976, Rivne) is a Ukrainian journalist. He is an Honored Journalist of Ukraine (2009).[1] He is also a Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.

Biography

He was born in Rivne. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a military pilot. He received his first higher education at the Ukrainian State Academy of Water Management, majoring in engineering. He graduated from the National University of Ostroh Academy with a degree in law.[2]

He gained experience as a presenter and journalist at the radio station Nova Khvylya, where he worked for two years, as well as on television in Rivne (television company Rivne-1), and wrote for local print publications. Later, he worked in Kyiv as a correspondent for Podrobits, a special correspondent for the National Information Systems company (Inter TV channel), and then as a presenter for the Studio 1+1 TV and Radio Company.[3]

In early November 2013, he moved to the 2+2 as a news anchor for the Spetskor news program. At the same time, he produces materials for TSN. He covered events from the Euromaidan, the occupation of Crimea, the war in Eastern Ukraine. During the fighting, he visited the Donetsk Airport, Pisky, near Sloviansk, Vuglehirsk, Debaltseve.

In 2009, he was nominated for an Emmy Award in the Emmy Award in the News category for its coverage of the South Ossetian War.[4][5][6]

In 2022, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the II degree for significant merits in strengthening Ukrainian statehood, courage and dedication shown in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, significant personal contribution to the development of various spheres of public life, defending the national interests of our state, and conscientious performance of professional duty.[7]
