Rita bakalu is a species of bagrid catfish endemic to India and belongs to the genus, Rita. R. bakalu was reported from the Godavari river in peninsular India.[1] Though R. bakalu looks like R. kuturnee, the structure of their teeth patches on upper jaw and palate, origin of anal fin, eye diameter, longer mandibular barbels, vertebral count make the difference between the two species.
