Remco Erik Breuker (born 1972) is a Dutch historian, author, academic, and translator specializing in Korea and Northeast Asia, focusing on medieval Korean and Northeast Asian history and contemporary North Korean affairs.[1][2] He is currently a professor of Korean studies at Leiden University.
Biography
[edit]In 2011, Breuker was promoted to full professor of Korean studies at Leiden University.[1] Outside academia, Breuker works translating Korean literature into Dutch.[3] He is also a regular media commentator on Korean affairs in the Netherlands.[4]
Education
[edit]Breuker possesses master's degrees in Japanese studies and Korean studies, and a doctorate in Korean history from Leiden University.[1]
