In Kenya, refugees are individuals who have fled their home countries due to conflict, violence, or persecution and seek safety in Kenya. Asylum seekers are those who apply for refugee status but have not yet been officially recognized. Kenya currently hosts 767,294 refugees and asylum seekers, with 592,326 refugees and 212,373 asylum seekers. Many come from neighboring countries like Somalia, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.[1]
