Refrescante..., also known as Menudo for the Portuguese version, is the 21st and 22nd studio album by the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo, released in 1986. It marks the group's 17th album in Spanish and their 3rd in Portuguese. The lineup for this album includes Charlie Massó, Robby Rosa, Ricky Martin, Raymond Acevedo, and Sergio Gonzalez, and it is the second and third album recorded by this specific ensemble.[1]
For the first time in their career, Menudo recorded songs written by Brazilian composers on this album. The single "Diga Sim" was composed by Ed Willson and Carlos Colla, "Alegria" was written by Michael Sullivan and Paulo Massadas, and the song "Cara ou Coroa" was adapted by Carlos Costa.[2] In Brazil, the Portuguese version of the album was simply titled Menudo and was released on June 25, 1986.[3][4]
One notable track, "Hoy Me Voy Para México," was later re-recorded in English as "I'm Going Back to the Philippines" and included in Menudo's fourth English-language album, In Action, released in 1987. This track went on to become a number-one hit on various radio stations across the Philippines.
Commercially, Refrescante reached a peak position of number 16 on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart.[5]
