Raseswari Panigrahi
Appearance
Raseswari Panigrahi is a former member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly representing the Sambalpur constituency. She was the first woman MLA from Sambalpur, elected on a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ticket in 2014.[1] However, intra-party conflicts within the BJD and organizational challenges reportedly contributed to her defeat in the 2019 elections to BJP's Jayanarayan Mishra.[2]
In April 2024, Panigrahi resigned from the BJD, citing neglect by the party toward the Sambalpur region.[3] She expressed dissatisfaction with the party leadership for failing to prioritize the development needs of her constituency.[4]
