Rarities is a compilation album by the German rock band Eloy, released in 1991.
It compiles various singles and previously unreleased tracks from the 1973–1984 period, when Eloy were under contract with EMI Electrola.
Songs
[edit]"Daybreak" and "On the Road" are A-Side and B-Side non-album singles recorded and released in 1973.[3]
"Child Migration" and "Let the Sun Rise In Your Brain" were written and recorded in 1979, the International Year of the Child, as Eloy wanted to contribute to the cause by releasing a single with two songs. Dissatisfied with the recordings, they decided to keep the tracks unreleased, with a heavily alternated version of "Child Migration" eventually included in next year's Colours album.[4]
"Silhouette" (single edit) and "Horizons" are A-Side and B-Side singles from the album Colours, released in 1980.[5]
"Wings of Vision" is an A-Side non-album single released in 1980 in 7" format[6] and 12" format,[7] with both versions included in Rarities.
"Sunset" is a song from Colours that was also the B-Side to the "Wings of Vision" A-Side 7" format single.[6]
"Time to Turn" and "Through a Somber Galaxy" are A-Side and B-Side singles from the album Time to Turn, released in 1982.[8]
"The Stranger" is a song from the album Metromania, released in 1984. It was intended to be released as a single, but it only made it to the test pressing stage.[9]
