Raphitoma striolaris is an extinct species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Raphitomidae.[1]
Description
[edit]The length of the shell attains 11 mm.
Spire scalariform; whorls separated by a deep, undulating suture; subsutural ramp adorned with whitish commas (« albo-virgulatae » in Monterosato); sculpture made of few, sharp, raised spiral ridges running upon even fewer radial costae, giving the shell a clathrate appearance. Distribution
[edit]Fossils of this extinct marine species were found in Eocene strata in France.
