Raúl Asencio del Rosario (born 13 February 2003) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a defender for Real Madrid CF.[1]

Early life

Asencio joined the youth academy of Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid at the age of thirteen.[2]

Career

Asencio plays Real Madrid's reserve team Real Madrid Castilla, where he is regarded as one of the most important players.[3] On 9 November 2024, he made his La Liga debut for Real Madrid, coming on as a substitute in a 4–0 victory against CA Osasuna.[4] Asencio said it was his childhood dream to play for Real Madrid first team on Instagram.

Asencio mainly operates as a defender and has been described as "decisive with the ball and with great physical conditioning".[5]

Personal life

Asencio is a native of Canary Islands, Spain.[6] Since the fall of 2023 he has been persecuted by the spanish justice for the diffusion of a sexual video of a minor.[7]
