History
[edit]Founding and early years (2018–2019)
REDMAGIC was established in April 2018 by Nubia Technology to address the niche market of gaming smartphones. Its first device, the REDMAGIC Mars, had a design optimized for gamers, incorporating RGB lighting and an ergonomic build.[1] This debut positioned the company as a challenger to established brands in the gaming sector.
The REDMAGIC Mars was followed by incremental updates to the product line in 2019, introducing shoulder triggers and liquid cooling technology to improve gaming performance.[2]
Expansion and innovation (2020–2023)
The REDMAGIC 5G in 2020 was one of the first smartphones in the world to have a 144Hz refresh rate display and 5G connectivity..[3]
The subsequent REDMAGIC 6 series, launched in 2021, introduced a cooling fan integrated directly into the smartphone, a first in the industry.[4] The REDMAGIC 6 lineup solidified the brand's reputation for hardware innovation.
By 2023, the REDMAGIC 8 Pro incorporated Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 6000mAh battery. reflecting the company's commitment and battery life for extended gaming sessions.[5]
