Interwiki
[edit]I'm from the hebrew wikipedia but i saw that there's a failed interwiki to the indonesian wikipedia. ישרון (talk) 19:13, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out (the London Portal on id:wikipedia seems to have been deleted). I can't find (and thus can't remove) the interlanguage link though. It must be tucked away in one of the templates. Hopefully someone more savvy can locate and fix it. ---Sluzzelin talk 19:28, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Found it and fixed it. Thanks again! ---Sluzzelin talk 19:36, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Needs updating!
[edit]RIP Kbthompson (talk · contribs), but this portal needs serious updating. I'm not familiar with London or its topics, or I would do it myself. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 21:22, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
- My condolences to Kbthompson's family. Might it be an idea to revive this portal along the lines of other portals where showcase content is selected at random from a list, rather than rotated every month? There are enought featured articles and pictures to do with London for the "showcase" articles, pictures and biography all to be featured content; my suggestions are below.
- Featured articles: Arsenal F.C., Buckingham Palace, Chelsea F.C., East End of London, Gray's Inn, Great Fire of London, London congestion charge, Only Fools and Horses, Postman's Park, Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, Tower of London
- Featured pictures: Canary Wharf, British Museum Great Court, Clapham Common station, City of London skyline, The Gherkhin, Gin Lane, Leadenhall Market, London Eye, Royal College of Music, Piccadilly Circus in 1949, Temperate House, Kew Gardens, Tower Bridge at night
- Featured biographies: Edgar Speyer, Noël Coward, Emmeline Pankhurst, Samuel Johnson, Kate Bush, John Dee, Jack the Ripper, Jack Sheppard, Mellitus, Henry J. Wood, William Shakespeare
- Did you know?: A selection of these
- Selected quote: A selection of these and past entries

Notice from the Portals WikiProject
[edit]WikiProject Portals is back!
The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.
As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.
There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.
Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.
And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.
From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely, — The Transhumanist 07:36, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
May 2020 portal updates
[edit]The following updates have been performed on the portal. North America1000 18:18, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- Updated portal using Template:Transclude random excerpt, providing current, up-to-date information that is verbatim to article content. A consensus approving the usage of transclusion templates in portals was formed at this Village Pump discussion. Used some Featured-class articles from Portal:London/Featured article and Portal:London/Featured biography.
- Added some FL-class articles to the Featured article section (diff)
- Added some FA-class articles to the Featured article section (diff, diff)
- Added more FA-class articles to the Selected biography section (diff, diff)
Recognised content section
[edit]As the recognised contents section had not been revised since November 2018, I have automated it to use the User:JL-Bot/Project content bot. This will automatically curate the Featured Articles, Featured Lists and Good Articles lists once a week as required. Manual editing is not required.
The Featured Article list has 37 more items and the Good Articles list has 227 more items. The Featured Lists list appears for the first time with 31 items.--DavidCane (talk) 23:26, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
