Qualification clarification question

[edit]

The following was featured on WP's DYK:

  • ...that Edward Rosewater was the telegraph operator responsible for sending out Abraham Lincoln's "Emancipation Proclamation" in 1863?

Rosewater was the founder and longtime editor of the Omaha Bee, but the DYK doesn't mention that - my fault. Can we modify the DYK for inclusion here:

  • ...that Omaha Bee editor Edward Rosewater was the telegraph operator responsible for sending out Abraham Lincoln's "Emancipation Proclamation" in 1863?

Same type of question about:

  • ...that pioneer Omaha physician George L. Miller served as president of the Nebraska State Historical Society after being labeled a "raving maniac" by the press?

Miller founded the Omaha Herald, although the DYK doesn't say that. It could read:

  • ...that pioneer Omaha physician and Omaha Herald founder George L. Miller served as president of the Nebraska State Historical Society after being labeled a "raving maniac" by the press?

I'd rather we keep the hooks as they appeared at T:DYK on the Main Page, it is sort of a historical record that way, and is also the way the hooks were vetted through the process. Cirt (talk) 00:10, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, as those are relatively minor changes, so long as the new facts/additions are also cited to WP:RS/WP:V sources within each article, I don't see a problem with that. Cirt (talk) 01:50, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I only use WP:RS/WP:V sources, so these are good to go then. I'll add them if you haven't already, and I'll work on getting some other Omaha-related journalism articles DYKed. • Freechild'sup? 03:59, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, sweet then. Let me know if you have any trouble with that. Cirt (talk) 04:02, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
