Tennant is tenth?
[edit]Yes, he's officially the Tenth Doctor in the BBC series, but he's not the tenth actor to play a version of The Doctor. Is some qualification needed here? On what basis are Richard Hurndall, Peter Cushing, Rowan Atkinson, Richard E. Grant, etal., excluded from the count? Should it read that Tennant is the tenth actor barring anniversary specials, film adaptations not directly involving the BBC, licensed parodies and BBCi productions? He's the Tenth Doctor — that's canon — but the number of actors playing the character has nothing to do with continuity or canonicity. It's a simple fact that more than ten actors have played the character; if Tennant is the tenth of a subset of the total, then the subset must be defined. Canonblack 14:04, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
