[edit]1993: The Congress of Colombia passed Law 99 of 1993, mandating the creation of Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies.
2004: A major snowstorm started dropping as much as 29 inches (74 cm) of snow in the Midwestern United States and Eastern Canada.
2009: American Airlines Flight 331 overran the runway at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica while attempting to land in heavy rain and strong wind. No one was killed in the crash, but the plane was completely destroyed.
