- 1909 – A major tornado outbreak killed at least 37 people across the Southeastern United States. An F3 tornado devastated Stantonville and Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee, killing at least 24 people. Pittsburgh Landing was "wiped off the map." An F2 tornado killed at least 7 people south of Woodville and Scottsboro, Alabama with rumors of as many as 18 deaths.
- 1925 – A short-lived F2 tornado destroyed a small house in Comite, Louisiana. Five members of one family were killed. One child, going to school, escaped without injury.
- 1966 – An F5 tornado devastated Belmond, Iowa, killing 6 people and injuring 172. In Belmond, 109 homes were destroyed and 468 were damaged; 75 out of 112 businesses were damaged or destroyed. Several farms were leveled outside of town.
