- 1827 – First Hammersmith Bridge over the River Thames opens.
- 1862 – London, Chatham and Dover Railway opens line between Elephant & Castle and Herne Hill.
- 1869 – Blackfriars Bridge over the River Thames opens.
- 1869 – Holborn Viaduct opens.
- 1884 – Metropolitan Railway and District Railway complete the Inner Circle by connecting Tower of London and Mansion House.
- 1884 – District Railway extends from Mark Lane to Whitechapel.
- 1957 – West London Air Terminal opens in a temporary building on Cromwell Road as a passenger check-in facility and coach station for British European Airways passengers flying from Heathrow Airport. Waterloo Air Terminal closes.
- 1960 – An out-of-service Northern line train runs into the end wall of the siding tunnel at Tooting Broadway injuring the driver.
