- Insurgency in Cabo Delgado
- Six people are killed and three others are kidnapped as Islamists insurgents raid the districts of Erati and Memba, Mozambique, torching dozens of houses. Six attackers are arrested.
- Gunmen storm the Comboni Missionary Sisters' church in Chipene, Mozambique, killing an Italian nun and setting ablaze the church, the nuns' homes and the hospital. Two other nuns and two priests escaped. (Ansa)
- Mali War
- Fights erupt in the village of Talataye between the Islamic State, Jama'at Nasr al-Islam wal Muslimin and the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad, with the Malian Armed Forces launching airstrikes amid the fighting. At least 30 people are killed. (Crisis24)
- Yemeni Civil War
- Twenty Southern Transitional Council separatist fighters are killed by al-Qaeda gunmen in Abyan Governorate. All of the six attackers are also killed in the gunfight. (Al Jazeera)
- Anglophone Crisis
- Six people are killed and eight others are injured when separatists open fire on a public bus in South West, Cameroon. (Reuters)

- Couy Griffin, a commissioner of Otero County, New Mexico, United States, is barred from public office by a state judge due to his involvement in the January 6 attack, which was determined to be an insurrection.
