Appearance
The globular cluster M80 is one of the densest known, and lies about 28,000 light years away in the constellation of Scorpius. Globular clusters consist mostly of very old stars, but M80 and others also contain anomalously young blue stragglers, which may be formed by stellar mergers in the dense core of the cluster.
