• 1912 - Her lecture circuit completed, Emma Goldman stops at the German Waldheim Cemetery in Chicago to visit the grave of anarchist Voltairine de Cleyre.
• 1936 - In Barcelona, Spain, the anarcho-trade unionists of the powerful Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT) urge, without success, Luis Companys, president of the Generalitat (governing Catalonia), distributing weapons to the workers, to counter the imminent threat of a rightwing military coup d'etat.
