Phoebe Plummer

Phoebe Plummer is a British climate change activist associated with Just Stop Oil. They are best known for throwing soup on a Van Gogh painting in October 2022, an act for which they were convicted in September 2024.

Life

Plummer attended St Mary's School Ascot before obtaining A-levels in Chemistry, Computer Studies, and Maths at Mander Portman Woodward.[1]

Activism and convictions

In May 2024, Plummer was one of a group of three of the first defendants convicted of interference with key national infrastructure.[2]

Sunflowers

On 14 October 2022, Phoebe Plummer and Anna Holland threw tins of tomato soup on Sunflowers, a painting by Vincent van Gogh. Plummer and Holland were convicted of causing criminal damage and Plummer was sentenced to two years imprisonment.[3]
