Phil Harres (born 25 March 2002) is a German footballer who plays as a forward for Holstein Kiel.

Career

[edit]

As a youth player, Harres joined the youth academy of Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.[1] Stints at the youth academies of VfL Bochum, Hombrucher SV 09/72 [fr], SC Preußen Münster, and Dynamo Dresden followed, starting his senior career with the latter before being sent on loan from the club to SSV Ulm 1846 in 2021.

In 2022, he signed for FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin. One year later, he signed for FC 08 Homburg. His form while playing for the club earned him a move to Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel in 2024. On 9 November 2024, he scored his first goal for the club during a 1-2 away loss to SV Werder Bremen in the league.[2]

Style of play

[edit]

Being right-footed, Harres can play as a right-winger on top of playing as a forward. German newspaper Dattelner Morgenpost wrote that he is known for his "robustness and deep runs, which make it difficult for opponents to defend him".[3]
