Payaza

Payaza is a Nigerian fintech company that provides payment gateway solutions for businesses across Africa.[1][2] Payaza was founded in 2021 and has a presence in 19 countries across West Africa, Southern and Eastern Africa, and the Middle East.[3] In late 2023, Payaza was incorporated and licensed as a money services business (MSB) in 50 states in the United States and Canada.[4]

History

Seyi Ebenezer founded Payaza in 2021. In December 2022, Payaza held its first fintech hackathon.[5] The hackathon had over 4,000 participants.[6] In November 2023, Payaza held its second annual hackathon in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.[7][8] Payaza also hosted an SME Summit and a Developers Circle event following the launch of Payaza 2.0 in 2024.[1]
