Patrick H. Willems (born 1987)[2] is an American video-essayist and filmmaker.

Early life

Willems grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY. He would later attend Oberlin College and gain a degree in Cinema Studies.[3]

Career

He has maintained a YouTube channel since 2011. He initially posted short films before moving into video essays in 2016–17. His video 'What if Wes Anderson directed X-Men' gained notoriety.[4] He is known to mix short narrative cinematic sequences between the typical video essay format.[2] In 2022 his feature film debut Night of the Coconut was released.[5] In 2024, Variety reported that he would be directing the film The Dinner Plan, through the indie streaming service Nebula.[6]
