The Pan-African University of the Congo (UPAC) is a public higher education institution in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, based in Kinshasa, the capital city.

History

[edit]

UPAC was officially established in 2010 by Ministerial Decree No. 004 MINESU/CABMIN/MNL/DESP/KOB/2010.[citation needed]

The university opened on 12 November 2011, with three faculties: law, economics & management, and science & technology, along with an additional program in architecture. Its opening marked a first in the DRC, launched on the LMD system (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate).[citation needed]

On 16 September 2014, the university laid the foundation stone for its second site in the Kinshasa metropolis, at 42 12th Street, Cité Verte, Mont Ngafula.[2]

Academics

[edit]

UPAC's programs are also structured on a semester basis: exams are organized at the end of each semester (twice per academic year).
