Paige Niemann (born 2004[1]) is an American Internet personality. In 2019, she went viral on the video sharing app TikTok for her resemblance to the American singer Ariana Grande.[2]
Early life
[edit]Paige Niemann was born in 2003 or 2004.[1] She is from California, United States, and was home-schooled. Niemann is half Sicilian and half German.[1] At the age of twelve, Niemann started posting selfies and videos of herself dressed as Ariana Grande on musical.ly (now TikTok).[1]
Career
[edit]In 2019, Niemann went viral for her attempts to impersonate Grande and many TikTok users dubbed her Grande's doppelgänger.[1][3][4][5] In her videos, Niemann attempted to dress and style herself similar to Grande, and also tried to emulate Grande's mannerisms.[1]
Grande responded to a video in which Niemann, dressed as a 2019 version of the singer, lip-synced to dialogue by Cat Valentine (whom Grande portrayed from 2010 until 2014 in the Nickelodeon series Victorious and Sam & Cat). Grande said, "it's definitely bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds".[1][6] Niemann has received criticism for her efforts to profit from her resemblance to Grande, with the singer describing her impersonators as "degrading" after Niemann attempted to recreate her wedding photos for an Instagram post.[7]
In September 2022, Niemann was criticized for starting an OnlyFans account; fans reportedly found the account misleading and distasteful for attempting to impersonate Grande.[7][8]
