Pablo Barragán (born 1987) is a clarinetist from Andalusia, Spain.
Life and career
[edit]Barragán was born in Marchena.[1] He studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel Castillo in Sevilla with Antonio Salguero and at the Barenboim-Said Foundation with Matthias Glander.[2] He studied further at the Basel Music Academy from 2009, with François Benda . He took master classes with Martin Fröst, Charles Neidich and Dimitri Ashkenazy.
Barragán was a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra from 2007. He became a lecturer of the foundation in the Near East. Barragán has played as a soloist with the Sinfonieorchester Basel, Orquesta de Radio Television Española, Bratislava Sinfonietta, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Orchestre du Chambre Delemont, Orquesta Betica de Camara and Neues Orchester Basel . He has played at European festivals including Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern , Salzburger Kammermusikfest, Young Euro Classic in Berlin, Davos Festival, Musiksommer Zürichsee and Montecastelli Pisano Festival. He played at the Lucerne Festival first in 2013.
