Onihei Hankachō (鬼平犯科帳) is a Japanese television jidaigeki or period drama[1] that was broadcast from 1989 to 2016.[2][3] It is based on Shōtarō Ikenami's novel of the same title. Kichiemon Nakamura plays Heizō Hasegawa. Kichiemon Nakamura`s father Matsumoto Kōshirō VIII also played same role in 1969.[4][5][6] In 1995 the drama made into a movie.(Onihei's Detective Records directed by Yoshiki Onoda.)[7]
Plot
[edit]Hasegawa is a chief of Hitsuke Tōzoku Aratamegata. He is a talented man and feared like an oni by thieves. On the other hand, he is a man with big heart, and some former thieves impressed by his personality are now working for him. Hasegawa and his subordinates help each other to arrest thieves.
