Oluwole Aderogba Olaniyi is a Nigerian university lecturer and structure engineer who is Director of Works at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Oyo State, Nigeria.[1][2]

Early life and education

After his elementary education at St. Mary Primary School in 1993, Oluwole Olaniyi proceeded to Banjolat Friendship Academy, Ipetu-Ijesa, Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, for his Senior School Certificate Examination in 2000. In 2003, he earned Ordinary National Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. He proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, for his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) and Masters of Technology (M.Tech.) in Civil Engineering in 2008 and 2014 respectively. In 2023, he earned a PhD in Structure and Materials at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ilorin, Kwara State.[1]

Career

Oluwole Olaniyi joined the services of Civil Engineering Department of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, as a teaching assistant and in 2015 as an assistant lecturer in the same institution. From 2017 to 2019, he served as a volunteer under TAC Scheme of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC) during which he was posted to the University of The Gambia. He later joined the Civil Engineering Department of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, as a lecturer and later as the acting head of the department. On 17 October 2024, Olaniyi was appointed as the pioneer director of works of the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo.[2][1]


Apart from being a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Olaniyi is a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (MNICE).[3]

Publications

He has published research papers including: “The Effect of Stone Dust and River Sand as Fine Aggregates on the Compressive Strength of Hollow Sandcrete Blocks”; and “Compressive and Flexural Behaviour of Unstressed Concrete Substructure in Cassava Effluent Contaminated Soils” among others.[4][5][6][7]

Olaniyi is married with children.
