The Offensive near Gradačac was Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) attack to break the defense of the 107th Cavalry Motorized Brigade near Gradačac and to put pressure on the ARBiH.[1]

The Events

[edit]

Immediately on January 1, the VRS pushed the HVO and ARBiH to the city of Gradačac, the Army of Republika Srpska first captured 2km² remaining of Čardak that was under the control of the ARBiH and HVO, then they took Borovo Polje, then they took control over Gornje Ledenice and Donje Ledenice and finally Sibovac near Gradačac, about 28km2.[2] Serbs now had a better view to shell Gradačac and Serbian villages of Šamac were more safe from ARBiH. Later there was an exchange of corpses between Serbs and Bosniaks.[3]
