Obory is a municipality and village in Příbram District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 300 inhabitants.
Administrative parts
[edit]The hamlet of Vápenice is an administrative part of Obory.
Etymology
[edit]The name literally means 'game reserves'.
Geography
[edit]Obory is located about 15 kilometres (9 mi) east of Příbram and 41 km (25 mi) south of Prague. It lies in the Benešov Uplands. The highest point is a nameless hill at 483 m (1,585 ft) above sea level. The brook Jindrovský potok flows through the municipality.

Transport
[edit]The I/18 road (the section from Příbram to Sedlčany) passes through the municipality.
Sights
[edit]Obory is poor in monuments. The only protected cultural monument is a Baroque calvary dating from 1727.[5]
