Non-redemption game
Appearance
Non-redemption games are amusement arcade games that do not reward the player with prizes or tickets, unlike redemption games. They are typically games of skill that provide entertainment through the challenge of their gameplay, and the player's desire to win a high score or beat their friends.[1]
With the rising capabilities of home gaming consoles, non-redemption video games have become less prolific at arcades.[2] Examples of non-redemption games still found at arcades include pinball machines, racing games, shooting games (often using light guns), rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution, and air hockey.[1]
