Nejaru (Mother & daughter/son) Murder Case

On Sunday, November 12, 2023, in a suburban area of Nejaru near Udupi, a mother (Hasina Mohammed, 48), her two daughters (Afnan Mohammed, 23 & Aynaz Mohammed, 21) and her son (Aseem Mohammed, 13) were brutally attacked by an assailant (Praveen Arun Chougule, 35) with a sharp weapon, killing all four of them, and also, injuring mother-in-law of the mother (Hajira, 70).[1]

The incident unfolded at around 8:30 AM IST on Sunday, November 12, 2023.[2]

Investigation

A few days later, on November 15, 2023, the Karnataka police arrested Praveen Arun Chougule.[3][4]

As of June 16, 2024, the trial of Nejaru Quadruple Murder Case has been stalled due to the transfer of the Judge.[5][6]
