Nasser Yousefi is a celebrated children’s author, child psychologist, and specialist in humanistic education. His first storybook, published in 1988 when he was just 21 years old, quickly gained recognition, earning a special mention at the festival of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults . Since then, Yousefi has published over 40 storybooks for children, with more than 2 million copies sold.

Over the past three decades, Yousefi has also been an active advocate for children’s rights, playing a pivotal role in various NGOs, including the Children's Book Council (Iran’s IBBY branch), the Association for the Protection of Children's Rights, and the DONYA Children`s Research Institute. He has also collaborated with international organizations like UNICEF, UNESCO, UNHCR, and the World Population Council and served as a consultant to UNICEF on Early Childhood Education and Development.

As an educational theorist, Yousefi has devoted significant research and work to humanistic education and has established himself as a proponent of humanistic psychology in learning environments. He advocates for child-centered approaches that foster empathy, critical thinking, and creativity.

After three decades of dedicated work in Iran, Yousefi and his family migrated to Canada. Along with his wife, Vida Heidari, and his daughter, Baran, he founded The Peace School in Toronto, which stands as the city’s first officially recognized humanistic school. The Peace School is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment that embodies humanistic values in education.

In addition to his storybooks, Yousefi has published research papers and articles on humanistic education in Canadian journals. His perspectives have been featured in interviews with Scott Jackson, a prominent Canadian humanist journalist, and Professor Lloyd Robertson, a noted psychologist and humanistic theorist. This combination of creative and educational contributions continues to inspire those who view education as a pathway to empathy and social harmony.
