Nassef Manabilang Adiong is a well-known author in the Philippines and wrote several international relations (IR) and Islamic studies books.
He is the Director of the Policy Research and Legal Services (PRLS) of the Bangsamoro Parliament and a Professorial Lecturer at the University of the Philippines Diliman’s Asian Center and at Miriam College’s International Studies department.
Education
[edit]Adiong graduated magna cum laude in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in International Studies from the University of the East which would later award him one of its 75 Most Outstanding Alumni.[2]. He obtained his Master in International Studies degree in 2009 from the University of the Philippines where he would later teach and be awarded UP Scientist in recognition of his dedication to scientific research under its scientific productivity system and Centennial Professorial Chair.[3][4][5] He holds a PhD in International Relations from the Middle East Technical University.[6]
Career
[edit]Adiong is the founder of BRLN (Bangsamoro Research and Legal Network), PHISO (Philippine International Studies Organization)[7], DSRN (Decolonial Studies Research Network)[8], and Co-IRIS (International Relations and Islamic Studies Research Cohort)[9].[10] He researches policy issues relating to historical, religio-cultural, socio-political, economic, environmental, and security aspects of the Bangsamoro society and explores decolonial knowledge sources of the global south as well as interdisciplinary study between Islam and IR.[11][12][13]
