Mytona is a video game company headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand.

History

[edit]

Mytona was founded in 2012 by brothers Alexey and Afanasey Ushnitsky in Yakutsk, Russia and has offices in Singapore, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia and Serbia.[2][3] The brothers said to have started developed casual PC games in 2004 and by 2020, they stated to have 1,000 employees, mostly in Yakutsk.[4]

Games

[edit]

Seekers Notes

[edit]

In 2015, Mytona released a hidden object game titled Seekers Notes. It is a mystery genre game set in the town of Darkwood. Users play as the Seeker, the chosen one, the possessor of a powerful artefact — the Magical Map, and the aim is to save Darkwood from an evil curse.

Ravenhill: Hidden Mystery

[edit]

This hidden object game was released in 2015.[5] The game was shut down in 2020.

Cooking Diary

[edit]

In 2018, Mytona released a time management game. In 2019, Cooking Diary[6] won "People's Choice Award" at the 15th International Mobile Gaming Awards.[7] in San Francisco. In 2020, Cooking Diary won "People's Voice" at the Webby Awards 2020.[8] In October 2020, Mytona collaborated with the streaming service Netflix, resulting in the Cooking Diary x Stranger Things Halloween update.[9]

Propnight

[edit]

In 2021, the company published the 4v1 physics-based prop hunt survival Propnight,[10] a multiplayer game, for the developer Fntastic. The game was shut down in 2024.

The Day Before

[edit]

Mytona published on Steam an MMO survival game The Day Before developed by Fntastic, which was panned by critics.[11] The game was released in 2023 and shut down soon after its release.

Mytonaverse

[edit]

At the end of 2021, the company launched its own metaverse, Mytonaverse.[12]

Other games

[edit]

In 2023, Mytona released two new projects: Outfire (a multiplayer competitive top-down shooter) and Chef & Friends (a time management game).[citation needed]
