Munufie Festival

Munufie Festival is an annual festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of Mpuasuman-Japekrom Traditional Area in the Jaman South District in the Bono region, formerly Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana.[1][2][3][4][5] It is usually celebrated in the month of October.[6][7][8] The people of Mpuasu-Japekrom Traditional Area also celebrate theirs in September.[9][10][11] The people and chiefs of Abi Traditional Area also celebrate theirs in September.[12]
Celebrations
[edit]During the festival, visitors are welcomed to share food and drinks. The people put on traditional clothes and there is durbar of chiefs. There is also dancing and drumming.[13]
Significance
[edit]This festival is celebrated to mark an event that took place in the past.[14]
