Municipio X (or Municipality 10) is one of the 15 administrative subdivisions of the city of Rome in Italy.[1]
It was first created by Rome's City Council on 19 January 2001 as Municipio XIII and has a president who is elected during the mayoral elections. On 11 March 2013 its name was changed in Municipio X.[2]

Municipal government
[edit]The president of the municipio is directly elected by citizens. The Council of the municipio is elected every five years, with a system under which voters express a direct choice for the President or an indirect choice voting for the party of the candidate's coalition. If no candidate receives at least 50% of votes, the top two candidates go to a second round after two weeks. This gives a result whereby the winning candidate may be able to claim majority support.

Geography
[edit]The territory of the municipio is bounded by the Tyrrhenian Sea on the east, by the mouth of Tiber river to the north-west, by Fiumicino to the north and Pomezia to the south.
A substantial part of the territory is occupied by green areas of the Castelfusano Pinewood Urban Park and the Castelporziano Presidential Estate, as part of Litorale Romano State Nature Reserve. As of 2020, the municipio's urban green areas extend for more than 12.29 km².
