Production

[edit]

Production took place in the Netherlands. Big Tent Entertainment and Mercis BV produced the series in association with Palm Multimedia.

Telecast

[edit]

The series made its world premiere in the United Kingdom on CITV.[3] The series soon premiered in its home-country of the Netherlands on KRO in 2003.[4]

In the United States, the show was licensed by Big Tent Entertainment and aired on Noggin starting in April 2003.[5][6] For the US airings, Noggin created original "interactive game" shorts to air between segments.[7] The series was later broadcast on local PBS stations, presented by WLIW, beginning in 2007.[8]

It also aired on Treehouse TV in Canada,[9], ABC Kids in Australia[10] and on TV3 in New Zealand.

Home Media

[edit]

During its run, several videotapes including episodes of the series were produced. The series was also made available on DVD in America through Sony Wonder and Big Tent Entertainment.[11] Select Miffy and Friends episodes were included on themed DVDs released in 2009.[12] In 2016, it was also available for streaming on the Noggin app.

As of 2024, Miffy and Friends is available to stream on Amazon Prime.

Sequel

[edit]

In 2015, a continuation of the series, Miffy's Adventures Big and Small, premiered on NPO Zappelin in the Netherlands and on Tiny Pop in the UK; it concluded on June 15, 2019.
