The Mexican Insurgent Army (Spanish: Ejército Insurgente Mexicano, EIM) was a short-lived far-left Guerrilla group, and existed between 1968 and 1969, in the Lacandon Jungle region of Chiapas.[3] by left-wing newspaper editor Mario Menéndez and Ignacio González Ramírez.[4][5] Ignacio González was in charge of the urban cell of the group called the Revolutionary Struggle Committee (Spanish: Comité de Lucha Revolucionaria).[6][7]
Mario Menéndez wrote the left-wing magazine called, Por Que?.[8][5][9]
History
[edit]The EIM was founded in 1968 by members and students who were a part of the Mexican Movement of 1968, originating from Mexico City, Nuevo Leon, Veracruz and Yucatan.[5][3][9][10]
