MediaWiki talk:Userjspreview
Appearance
Testing, no previewing
[edit]{{editprotected}}
Please change the message to something like
You are testing your user JavaScript right on this page. Remember it has not yet been saved!
Reasons:
- There is no actual "previewing" on JS and CSS files anymore
- Currently it's not clear that the file is actually executed on preview
- Help:User style would explain the purpose of this page for new users
Same goes for MediaWiki:Usercsspreview ∴ Alex Smotrov 20:34, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hm... agree, the current message isn't as clear as it could be. Any objections or proposed alternatives? – Luna Santin (talk) 21:00, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Doesn't seem too controversial. I went ahead and made the slight wording change.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 21:05, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Thank you. Sorry for changing my mind, but now I think this would be even better:
Press «Show preview» button to test your user JavaScript right on this page.
Note that the standard MediaWiki:Previewnote is also displayed right next to it, so "not yet been saved" part is superfluous. And please update MediaWiki:Usercsspreview as well ∴ Alex Smotrov 01:53, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
