MediaWiki:Userrights-groups-help/en-gb
You may alter the groups this user is in:
- A checked box means the user is in that group.
- An unchecked box means the user is not in that group.
- A * indicates that you cannot remove the group once you have added it, or vice versa.
If you intend to add IP block exemption to an account: please consider asking a CheckUser to verify the need. After assigning the flag, please notify the user with the appropriate template, and log the action at Wikipedia talk:IP block exemption/log.
If you intend to add or remove administrator to an account: please consider adding and removing them, respectively, from Wikipedia:Administrators/Message list.
- User access levels and their applicable rights are outlined at Wikipedia:User access levels.
- Use Special:ListUsers to show all members of a particular rights group.
A log of all local changes to user rights made by local bureaucrats and administrators is available at Special:Log/rights. Removals of the administrator flag by Stewards before bureaucrats were granted the technical ability to remove it are viewable on the global rights log; so too are changes to permissions such as CheckUser and Oversight.
Indefinitely blocked non-administrators need not automatically have their rights revoked (per consensus in June 2012). However, an administrator may revoke their rights from an account that, by being blocked, also loses the trust needed for the rights assigned to it.
