Marine Industries Organization (MIO, Persian: سازمان صنایع دریایی), formerly known as Marine Industries Group (MIG),[2] is a defense industry complex subordinate to the Iranian defence ministry.[3][4] It is the major producer of equipment for both naval forces of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy and the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.[3]

History

MIO was established in 1986.[5]

As of 2023, MIO is placed under sanctions by Australia, Canada, Japan, Norway, South Korea, the US, the UK[2] and the EU.[5]
