Manik Mia Avenue is a major road in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka that makes the south boundary of Bangladesh National Parliament House Complex and houses the official residences of many members of parliament.[1][2]
Description
[edit]The avenue is a major road at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka. This avenue starts from Banglabsndhu Square popularly known as Khamar Bari Roundabout where it meets with Indira Road and Sansad Avenue and ends at Dhanmondi 27 Intersection where it junction with Mirpur Road and Road 27, Dhanmondi R/A .[3]
Before Dhaka City Corporation put dividers on the avenue, political parties used to hold public meetings here because of its wideness.[4]
The avenue is named after Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah editor of The Daily Ittefaq.[5]
