The full-rigged ship struck a sunken rock. She put in to Dartmouth, Devon , where she sank. She was on a voyage from Sydney , New South Wales to London . The pilot on board at the time committed suicide the next day.[ 31] [ 62] She was refloated on 7 April and beached for repairs.[ 53]
