Zagreb train disaster 30 August 1974 153 60 An express train (number 10410)[1] traveling from Belgrade, Yugoslavia, to Dortmund, West Germany, derailed before entering Zagreb Main Station, Croatia, killing 153 people.[2][3] It was the worst rail accident in Yugoslavia's history till then[4] and remains one of the worst in Europe's history.[5]
Stalać rail crash 13 September 1979 60[6] 100[7][8] a head-on collision occurred between two trains near the village of Stalać, Ćićevac in the Serbia. The crash involved a head-on collision between a packed Express passenger train bound for Skopje[6] and an intermodal freight train on a single-track section of the railway. Due to communication errors and possible driver fatigue[6]
