^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They acknowledge several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.
The following is a list of awards and nominations received by acclaimed American actress and producer Reese Witherspoon . She rose to international fame for portraying Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. Among her numerous accolades, Witherspoon has won an Academy Award , BAFTA Award ,[ 1] and Golden Globe Award for her performance in Walk the Line .[ 2] As a producer, Witherspoon won a Primetime
Emmy Award and received Golden Globe award nominations for the television series Big Little Lies . She also received many Primetime Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG award nominations for her critically praised role on the Apple TV series The Morning Show.
