Lethbridge, Newfoundland and Labrador
The community of Lethbridge (48°22′06″N 53°52′10″W / 48.36833°N 53.86944°W) is located 20 km (12 mi) from Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador along Route 230, on the Cabot Highway, to Bonavista. Route 233 and Route 234 also pass through the community. It is an unincorporated community with a population of 635 (2016).[1] It is part of the local service district of Lethbridge and Area.
Forestry (including pulp and saw mills) is the main industry in the area, as well as the farming of such crops as: potatoes, carrots, turnips, cabbage and various berries. There is limited poultry and beef production.
Geography and climate
[edit]Lethbridge has a humid continental climate (Köppen Dfb). The average annual temperature in Lethbridge is 5.4 °C (41.7 °F). The average annual precipitation is 1,260.0 mm (49.61 in) with October as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in August, at around 17.1 °C (62.8 °F), and lowest in January, at around −5.5 °C (22.1 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded in Lethbridge was 34.0 °C (93.2 °F) on 24 August 2008; the coldest temperature ever recorded was −31.0 °C (−23.8 °F) on 27 January 2008.
