Kingsley Kobayashi is a Japanese-Nigerian businessman and the CEO of Kobayashi Group and Harry Kings International Ltd.[1]
Early life
[edit]Kingsley Kobayashi was born Kingsley Ogbeiwi in Benin City, Nigeria.[2] He completed his primary, secondary, and tertiary education in Edo State, Nigeria. In 1986, he moved to Lagos, where he initially worked in the government sector. In 1993, Kobayashi relocated to Japan and became a naturalized Japanese citizen in 2004, changing his name to Kingsley Kobayashi.[3]
Career
[edit]In 1991, Kingsley Kobayashi founded Harry Kings Investment Ltd in Lagos. He expanded to Japan in 1993, establishing Harry Kings International Ltd in Tokyo. Since 2014, he has been involved in blockchain and fintech, founding FBC Japan.[4]
In 2021, Kobayashi and his wife founded ARK Reform Japan and 147 Security Solutions Ltd in Nigeria. In 2023, he co-founded the fintech startups KobaPay and KobaKey. In 2024, he founded Kobayashi Trading Ltd. Nigeria.[5]
Philanthropy
[edit]Kobayashi supports several charitable organizations, including the Modupe Cole School and Orphanage in Lagos, which assists children with disabilities.[6]
