Karlīna Miksone (born 21 March 2000) is a Latvian footballer who plays as a midfielder and has appeared for the Latvia women's national team.
Career
[edit]Karlīna's first team was FK Liepājas Metalurgs, but after the club disbanded, she moved to FK Nīca, where she played alongside boys. Later, Karlīna played concurrently for both FK Nīca and the newly established FK Liepāja. Later, she left her hometown and moved to Riga, where after a few successful seasons, she began her career as a footballer abroad. During her career abroad, she has played in Iceland, Lithuania, and Poland.
In 2021 signed with Lithuanian FC Gintra.[1][2] In the end of August 2021, two Latvian players, Anastasija Ročāne and Karlina Miksone, left FC Gintra.[3]
International career
[edit]Karlīna Miksone was only 14 years and 322 days old when she made her debut for the Latvian National Women's Team on February 6, 2015. She replaced long-time team captain Olga Matīsa in the 66th minute of a friendly match, which resulted in a loss 0-2 against the Estonia women's national football team.[4] Miksone has been capped for the Latvia national team, appearing for the team during the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying cycle.[5]
