Karim Muhieddine Mekkaoui (Arabic: كريم مكاوي; born 19 April 2001) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a midfielder, winger, or forward for Omonia Aradippou.

Career

Mekkaoui started his career with Lebanese side Racing Club Beirut. He was described as "quickly caught the eye with his skills, high technique, and scoring sense" while playing for the club.[1] He was awarded the 2018/19 Lebanese Premier League Best Young Player while playing for them. In 2021, he signed for Cypriot side Othellos Athienou FC. In 2022, he signed for Cypriot side Ayia Napa FC. He made twenty-five league appearances and scored three goals while playing for the club. In 2023, he signed for Cypriot side Omonia Aradippou. He helped the club achieve promotion.[2]

Mekkaoui is a Lebanon youth international. He has played for the Lebanon national under-23 football team. He played for the Lebanon national under-23 football team for 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification.

Mekkaoui was born on 19 April 2001 in Beirut, Lebanon. He is a native of Beirut, Lebanon. He has regarded France international Paul Pogba and Lebanon international Mohamad Haidar as his football idols.He has been a supporter of the Portugal national football team and Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid.
